Hawaii Foodbank

Hawaiian Tel FCU  is actively supporting the Hawaii Foodbank’s “Fight Hunger Spark Change” Campaign from now until Sunday, October 5th.  The Hawaii Foodbank is competing with 128 other food banks across the nation for the Walmart grant of $60,000 – if we are one of the top 50.  Voting is easy:

  1. Visit www.walmart.com/fighthunger from your computer or mobile device
  2. Log on to Facebook
  3. Click on the VOTE button
  4. Share your vote and encourage others to vote for the Hawaii Foodbank, and #HFBfighthunger for an entry to win two general admission tickets to Great Chefs Fight Hunger on March 21, 2015.

If granted the lump sum – the Hawaii Foodbank will share $15,000 with two member agencies: lighthouse Outreach Assembly of God, Waipahu and Surfing the Nations, Wahiawa.  Both agencies will receive a $7,500 credit to restock their shelves.

Lighthouse Outreach Assembly of God is led by Pastor Joe Hunkin Jr. is a community food distribution center and homeless shelter since October 2006.  This shelter houses over 120 individuals who have the ability to receive social services for rental assistance, financial planning and medical aid.

Surfing the Nations/Feeding the Hungry is led by Pastors Tom and Cindy Bauer is a mission outreach servicing the needy in both Wahiawa and Kalihi since 1998.

The winning entry will be selected from all Facebook “Share your Vote” entries marked with the #HFBfighthunger between now and October 5th, 5:59am.  The winner will receive two general admission tickets to Great Chefs Fight Hunger on March 21, 2015.  You may vote and enter this contest once every 24 hours, so vote and enter every day!
